LIL FLIP PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO GUN CHARGES AND MARIJUANA POSSESION

Houston rapper Lil flip has pleaded not guilty to all charges bought against him in Louisiana.  

On Christmas night in 2012, Lil Flip, whose real name is Wesley Eric Weston, was pulled over in Mansfield, Louisiana for speeding and upon searching the car the police supposedly found an AR-15 rifle and some marijuana.

Lil Flip has denied all those allegations and plead not guilty to the charges bought against him.  Flip was shot awhile ago and claims to carry the weapon as protection and he also has a license to carry a concealed weapon in 22 states including Louisiana.  

Flip said that the police found a stash of cigarettes and blacks and that they all had tobacco in them and not weed.  Flip also says he knows the consequences for crimes in Louisiana and would not put himself in position to get in any trouble.

Hopefully Flip can get through this situation and continue to work on his music.  His pre-trial date is set for April.  Good luck Flip.  #SWBY

KEVIN GATES SIGNS MAJOR DEAL WITH ATLANTIC RECORDS

Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates has officially signed major.  He has signed with Atlantic Records.  Gates Dead Game Records and Bread Winners Association have been grinding dropping mixtape after mixtape.  It was once rumored that Gates had signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money imprint.  I knew it would not be long before he went national though he has been appearing a lot.  He was recently heard on collaborations with Young Money artist Lil Chuckee and G.O.O.D music artist Pusha T.  Some said that Gates style and sound wouldn't be felt nationally but obvious it is. 

Gates dropped his latest project "The Luca Brasi Story" and it is said this is what sold Atlantic on Kevin Gates.  With songs like "Weight", "Arms of a Stranger", and "Ihop", how could a major ignore the buzz on this project?  All his projects could have sent him over the top in my opinion but hey you know the game.  Check out Kevin Gates discography of mixtapes and see what the majors saw.  Kevin Gates been Retawdid with the music, I know he got a name for it I don't know what to call it.  Congratulations Gates, put on for Louisiana like you been doing.  #SWBY
